Job Description
accel bi corporation is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist with expert-level mainframe knowledge to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is an urgent, full-time W2 opportunity with accel bi corporation.
The successful candidate will support enterprise mainframe systems and applications using z/OS, CICS, DB2, Endevor, JCL, IMS, and SQL. The position requires strong experience in mainframe administration, configuration and release management, SQL performance optimization, debugging, and technical problem-solving.
Candidates must be local to North Carolina, able to work onsite, and available to attend an in-person interview if requested. Only U.S. Citizens and Green Card holders will be considered.
Responsibilities
Provide expert-level technical support for z/OS mainframe environments.
Support configuration management and release management activities using Endevor.
Administer, troubleshoot, and debug CICS environments.
Collaborate with application developers and infrastructure teams to resolve mainframe-related issues.
Develop, review, and optimize SQL queries within DB2 environments.
Evaluate complex SQL queries and recommend improvements for application performance and cost savings.
Use DB2 tools and utilities for troubleshooting, administration, and performance optimization.
Support mainframe applications and batch processes using JCL and IMS.
Assist with middleware-related integration and troubleshooting.
Provide technical guidance on mainframe system functionality and interdependencies.
Maintain technical documentation and follow established change and release management procedures

Qualifications
Strong knowledge of the z/OS operating system and its interrelationships and functionality.
Hands-on experience with CICS administration, troubleshooting, and debugging.
Strong experience with DB2, SQL programming, and query optimization.
Experience providing configuration and release management support using Endevor.
Hands-on experience with JCL and IMS.
Knowledge of DB2 tools and utilities.
Ability to analyze complex SQL queries and recommend performance and cost-saving improvements.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
