Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Applications Database Administrator to join our team and support the migration and development of various applications. As a Senior Applications DBA, you will play a crucial role in the migration effort from on-prem to AWS cloud and the design and development of applications for our organization.

**This is a hybrid position**

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Manage the application schema, design, and extensions within the database for development, test, and production environments.
  • Provide technical support for database systems, including performance tuning, application administration, and consulting.
    Support Oracle, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle Golden Gate, ensuring their efficient operation and high availability.
  • Collaborate with developers to refine data requirements, design databases, and develop effective database migration plans.
  • Perform backup and recovery tasks, monitor database performance, and reorganize database structures as needed.
  • Create and modify test and production data, base schemas, and participate in data archiving and data extract processes.
  • Provide technical leadership in data extract (full copy or subset) from production to non-production regions and data masking/de-identification of extracted data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with database standards and best practices.
Qualification

Basic Qualification:
7 years of experience with designing schema, access patterns, locking strategy, SQL development, and tuning Oracle Databases in an enterprise environment.
7 years of experience in modifying the database structure, creating and updating existing database objects per application needs.
3 years of experience in configuring, monitoring, and Cache management for Oracle database servers.
3 years of experience in allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system.
2 years of experience in supporting and implementing Oracle Golden Gate.
2 years of experience in implementing and supporting Oracle on AWS, including RDS.
5 years of experience authoring code in SQL, PL/SQL on Unix/Linux.
2 years of experience in one or more shell scripting languages
5 years of hands-on experience enrolling users and maintaining system security, controlling user access to the database, and locking down host access.
5 years of experience monitoring performance metrics, response times, and request rates.
2 years of experience designing and implementing backup/restore service and disaster recovery (DR) solutions on AWS cloud.
3 years of experience with installing, upgrading, and patching the software that powers the database (Oracle).
2 years of experience with data masking/de-identification of production data for non-production usage.
Strong experience in data archiving solutions for large Oracle databases
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and weekend work.
Preferred Qualification:

2 years of experience with advanced security and Oracle DataGuard replication.

Experience :

MySQL: 1 year (Preferred)
Database administration: 1 year (Preferred)
supporting and implementing Oracle Golden Gate.: 2 years (Required)
implementing and supporting Oracle on AWS, including RDS.: 2 years (Required)
authoring code in SQL, PL/SQL on Unix/Linux: 5 years (Required)
